Submission

Authors must adhere strictly to the following submission guidelines when submitting a manuscript for publication in RSELTL.

Editorial Review

All submitted manuscripts are initially screened for the appropriateness for the journal. Manuscripts that do not meet the minimum requirements are rejected within five working days. Manuscripts that meet the relevance, scope, and format requirements of the journal will proceed to editorial review.

If a manuscript passes this initial screening, it is assigned to a member of the editorial board with expertise relevant to the subject matter. The editor assesses the manuscript’s scholarly quality and alignment with the journal’s aims before forwarding it to peer reviewers.

Peer Review Process

Manuscripts deemed appropriate after editorial assessment are subjected to a double-blind peer review. This means that both authors and reviewers remain anonymous to one another, ensuring impartiality and academic integrity throughout the process.

Each manuscript is evaluated by at least two independent reviewers who are specialists in English language teaching, education, applied linguistics, or a related discipline. Reviewers evaluate the manuscript on several aspects such as originality, clarity, research methodology, theoretical framework, and significance of findings. Reviewers provide detailed feedback indicating strengths, suggesting improvements, and recommending whether the manuscript should be accepted, revised, or rejected.

Based on the reviewers' reports, the editor makes a decision: to accept the manuscript, request revisions, or reject it. In most cases, authors are invited to revise and resubmit their manuscript within a specified timeframe. Revised manuscripts may undergo a second round of peer review, depending on the extent of the changes.

Publication Process

Once accepted, the manuscript enters the production stage, which includes copyediting, typesetting, and final proofreading. The article is then published in the online edition of RSELTL.

Benefits of Peer Review

The peer review process plays a critical role in upholding the academic quality and credibility of published research. It ensures that only rigorous, innovative, and well-substantiated work appears in the journal.

For authors, the process offers constructive feedback that enhances the relevance and quality of their research. Reviewers' comments often help authors tighten their arguments, clarify methodological procedures, and strengthen their conclusions. The journal is committed to practicing the highest standards of scholarly publishing, promoting research that offers an important contribution to the field of teaching and learning of the English language.

RSELTL upholds academic rigor, transparency, and integrity by engaging in rigorous and impartial peer review in order to ensure that the journal remains a credible platform for educators, researchers, and professionals in the field.
